Urihi - Short Film
"Urihi" is a handmade stop-motion short film I created, drawing its name from the Yanomami term for the forest and its ground. The Yanomami are an Indigenous Brazilian tribe, and the project highlights the disappearance of significant portions of their population and the illegal deforestation and appropriation of Indigenous lands, particularly in recent years. The film incorporates artistic elements inspired by Expressionism, reflecting its tradition of addressing social issues. Through meticulous craftsmanship and a socially conscious narrative, "Urihi" combines visual storytelling and critical commentary to shed light on these pressing environmental and cultural challenges.
