This project involved the editorial redesign of The Auto of Compadecida, a three-act play by Ariano Suassuna. The aim was to create a book-object that honored the cultural essence of the work, inspired by Northeastern Brazilian traditions like cordel literature and woodcut art. The book was divided into three acts, unified by a custom box, with distinct paper colors reflecting the cordel aesthetic. A three-column grid layout, visual breathing spaces, and custom illustrations enhanced the design. The typography was chosen for the project, and manual production techniques ensured authenticity for industrial-scale adaptation.
